The Inspiration behind dòu:

dòu was born from a simple belief: that beautiful things can come from unlikely combinations.


Whenever possible, we look for ways to support the AANHPI community in Kansas City, and partnering with Chingu Coffee Roasters — the only Asian coffee roaster in the area — was the perfect opportunity to do just that. Chingu transforms raw green beans into something rich, complex, and delicious. We specifically selected their Kenyan roast that is grown in the highlands of Kenya, where the soil and climate produce some of the most sought-after coffee in the world.


The beans' journey — from Kenyan soil to Asian craftsmanship in KC and finally to your home — is the beautiful combination that creates dòu. It's a scrub built on connection: two cultures and two continents that are dear to our family reflecting a shared care for something well done.


That same spirit of connection extends beyond the jar. A portion of every purchase supports 58ten, a nonprofit dedicated to the wellbeing of vulnerable children in Kenya, with proceeds going directly toward their education fund.
